The various BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 Courses

Version 9!
What's it all about?
Which V9 course do I need?

We’re often asked what the difference is between the various Issue 9 courses that BRCGS offer for their Food Safety Standard.

So we thought we’d explain it here for you! Saying that, if you’re still unsure, don’t hesitate to get in touch through academy@1stc.uk and we’ll be glad to advise.

Food Safety Lead Auditor V9 | 5 days | £980 pp

This qualification does what the below 3-day course does, + it also teaches auditing skills, to the level that a 3rd party auditor would need. Many Technical / Quality people also attend this course to qualify for internal audits & to audit their suppliers, or to keep future options open to become 3rd party auditors for a certification body.

Food Safety Auditor Training V9 | 3 days | £815 pp

This qualification doesn’t teach auditor skills, it does however apply them through exercises. It is 2 days of learning about the clause requirements & 1 day about the protocol requirements. So those who already have an auditing qualification (lead auditor, for any standard) attend this course to get to know the latest content of the standard.

Food Safety Sites Training V9 | 2 days | £595 pp

This qualification is for staff to gain a good understanding of the standard as a whole. There’s no need to have had detailed experience of issue 8 before doing this course as it covers the clause requirements well and includes the basics of the protocol requirements.

Food Safety Auditor Conversion Training V9 | 2 days | £595 pp

The scope of this course is the same as the 3-day Auditor training, except that the focus is only on what has changed between Issue 8 & 9. Attendees would typically have had a good level of experience with the previous version.

Food Safety Sites Conversion Training V9 | 1 day | £395 pp

The scope of this course is the same as the 2-day Sites training, except that the focus is only on what has changed between Issue 8 & 9. Attendees would typically have had a good level of experience with the previous version.
